DAY 6: Return day after half a year
In advance: Have
a roll of wallpaper and a pen or pencil ready, and crayons or felt-tip pens or
make a wise gnome (see photos below at the end of this blog)

Inner sources
of strength
The children come back to
repeat, as it were, and we ask them if they can still remember what we
discussed the previous times ..............
For example, do they still
use the worry doll ............................, the instructions
...................,
Do they still have (or new)
worries or wishes ....................
Do they need more tears from
the tear jar ........................
or the warmth and light of
the golden sun ........................
And how are they doing with
their bear strength!? ....................
Search with the children for
their inner sources of strength............
Examples of
inner strength: self-esteem,
self-confidence, love, courage, the ability to say what you want to say, also
daring to say no, a sense of humor, a crystal dome (so that we can let all
criticism slide from us), understanding, wisdom, smart, hope, not giving up,
learning from this loss experience.
CRAFTS:
Draw a child on wallpaper by
lying on the floor and running a pencil along it.
Then go through the feelings
of sadness, anger, fear/anxiety, pain and happiness with them (as indicated on
day 2). What feelings did you have then and what feelings do you have nów?
Use felt-tip pens or colored
pencils to indicate where in their body those feelings are located.
Then ask which event belongs
to that feeling.....................
When are you sad, angry,
afraid, in pain or happy? ....................... Do you know what you can do
to transform your bad feelings into better feelings?
............................... (Examples: Talking to one of your parents about
this, or playing outside, meeting up with a friend, walking, cycling, buying
something for yourself, playing a game, or playing music).
Forgiveness
We ask the children if they
can forgive those who have caused them grief, made them afraid or angry in the
situations indicated .............................. (who do you think of then?
…………) They can also ask the person in their thoughts if they want to forgive
him/her if they themsèlves have done something that has made the others angry,
afraid or sad .....................
Next you can ask them if
they can also forgive themselves for having a hard time for a while (all of
them), because of the situation that has arisen. (For example, if they have a
stomach ache, that they say sorry to their stomach, because their body is their
best friend) ...........................
Give them the opportunity to
do this now............
Empowering
children:
Bear power: The children were all given a bear when we
met them at home. Have you gained more bear power in the past year? (For
example: Did the bear help you fall asleep in your own bed?)
................... Ask the children if they still have the teddy bear at home
.................... Do you also have other cuddly toys that give you softness
and comfort when you are sad. That you can talk to? ...............................
The children can use this
animal as a symbol of strength, bear power! Everyone has bear power, but does
not always think about the fact that they own that power.
They can also think of
another strong anima: elephant, lion, leopard, hippo, or a soft animal (kitty,
monkey, dolphin, unicorn, etc.) for comfort.
Grounding
exercise:
Do you still remember? From
a worry tree becoming a life tree? .................. Shall we try again to be
a tree, with roots deep in the ground, so that we can't blow over when there's
a storm in your life ......................
You are a tree and shoot
roots from your right foot ................... and then from your left
foot.............. deep into the ground, whereby the roots attach themselves to
a stone ......................
Then you also let roots grow
from your tailbone into the earth .................
You are then well grounded,
rooted and stand firmly with both your feet on the ground.
Try it again at home at your
leisure.
This exercise is also done
in martial arts such as judo, so that you don't fall over so quickly when
someone gives you a push.
Impart inner
strength
What do you still find difficult?
……………………………. Let's write that down ……..
Let them say it out loud
(together) in a certain situation that is difficult for the children, that they
are dreading:
I càn do it
.... !
I wànt to do
it .... !
I dó it .... !
* Write the names of mom and
dad in elegant letters on two sheets of paper.
Think of a word that fits
mom and dad under each letter of their names and write it down. You can also
draw or color something to it.
* Make a wise wizzard, or color it (see example below).
* Write a letter or a nice
card to your father / mother / brother / sister.
This is the farewell of day
6.
We say goodbye to each
other. Blow out the candles together. And wish each other much success, love,
strength, wisdom for the rest of our lives.
And we thank each other for
having walked our life path together for a while.
